ANTALYA TOUR ON FOOT
An extraordinary experience: A fascinating view from the mountain scene of the National Olympus Park to the ruins of antique Termessos. Here, in the land of the Sun, very high from the sea level, there is a naked and wild beauty surrounded with the myths, and away from the confusion of the daily life. When the heat of the sun starts to scorch the soil, the shepherds ascend to the higher and watery places as it was in the past. We agreed with the same idea in our walk and discovered how much relaxing and restful the heights were. We will pass through the mountain chains on foot and follow the coast line. Finally we will be spoilt with the delicious food peculiar to the special mood of the Anatolia.

When we reach at the top, we will find the fire-watch house of Kemer. We will be able to watch the magnificent Lydian coast line that extends from Antalya to Kemer. The seamen had considered this natural flame which is like a game of the nature, as the house of Hephoistos, the God of Fire. Then, we will make a short walk and reach at the final point of our walk, the breathtaking view of the Beydağ Mountains from which we would see the magnificent gulf of the Olympus. According to the legend; the founder of this city, Laicos from Rodos, was asked for a selection either the cereals or fish as a payment for the land of the shepherds. No matter what his decision was, you will be able to taste both of them in the end of our tour. Following the port street of the ancient times, we will reach to the south-eastern gulf, "The City of Three Ports". After a short slope and a quite and silent bay, we will be able to have a glance at the fascinating port settlement for the last time before arriving in Tekirova, the final point of our tour.

5th Day (Thursday): "Termessos - the Unconquerable City". The scientists might search whether why the people needed to shelter in this mountain of 1100 meters, 2000 years ago. However, the freedom ambition of the warrior people of this unconquerable, rocky city is being felt inevitably. We are horrified when we consider the strength of the earthquake which messed up the huge stones of Sarcophagi in 300 A.D. Moreover, it is apparent now why Alexander the Great could not capture this great rocky city.

The old mountain houses with artistic figures let us into the dreams. A short climb-down takes us to Altınyaka plain among the trees. At the end of the way you will come closer to Turkish hospitality and of the delicious food.
